“The chief objection to playing wind instruments is that it prolongs the life of the player”

– George Bernard Shaw

ENSEMBLE.SI brings together an exciting group Slovenian musicians, who after studying and starting their careers in Slovenia, went to further their education abroad. After or even during studying, they successfully completed auditions and probation periods which secured them positions in prestigious orchestras, opera houses and universities across Europe. The musicians are members of the orchestras of the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras, the Bavarian State Opera, the Frankfurt and Bavarian Radio Orchestras, the Hof Symphony Orchestra, the Split Academy of Music, the Barenboim-Said Academy,…

The desire to play chamber music together was repeatedly the topic of conversation at meetings, and so the first concert took place in Berlin in 2018. After the initial success, the urge to socialize and perform together only got stronger and concerts followed at the Ljubljana Festival, Imago Sloveniae, Musical Summer in Bohinj, Piran musical evenings, Klassik and Burghof in Klagenfurt, Narodni dom in Maribor, Nova Gorica, Celje and within the silver subscription of Cankarjev dom.

The ensemble performs concerts in various formations, from a duo to a decet, and performs compositions from the classical repertoire, up to modern compositions that were written especially for the ENSEMBLE.SI.
