Eva Vrtačnik is a Slovenian oboe player. After receiving her master’s degree at the Academy
of Music in Ljubljana with prof. Matej Šarc, she continued her studies at the Royal Danish
Academy of Music in Copenhagen with professors Max Artved and Joakim Dam Thomsen and
later at the Danish National Academy of Music in Odense with prof. Henrik Skotte. During her
studies in Denmark she was a recipient of a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of the
Republic of Slovenia.
As a soloist and chamber musician she performs throughout Europe and Asia. She regularly
collaborates with ensembles and orchestras such as the Royal Danish Orchestra, Odense
Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen,
Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Esbjerg Ensemble, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra,
Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, Danish Chamber
Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and others.
She is the first prize winner of national and international competitions.
