He graduated in recorder, cello, chamber music with a degree in Music History at Rome \u201cLa Sapienza\u201d University and is now appointed teacher of recorder and chamber music on original instruments at L\u2019Aquila State conservatoire. he worked with several early music ensembles (\u201cEnsemble Aurora\u201d, \u201cCappella di San Petronio&#8221;, \u201cAlessandro Stradella Consort\u201d, the french \u201cEnsemble La Fenice\u201d, \u201cAcademia Montis Regalis\u201d&#8230;) concert institutions (RAI Rome and Naples Radio-Television Orchestra, \u201cOrchestra Verdi\u201d Milan-Italy, \u201cORL\u201d Rome and Lazio chamber orchestra, \u201cFestival de musique sacr\u00e9 de la Chaise-Dieu\u201d Haute-Loire France &#8230;.) Italian and foreign theatres (Teatro Campoamor, Oviedo-Spain, Opera Theatre Ente Concerti Marialisa De Carolis\u201d, Sassari-Italy &#8230;) both as a cello player (obbligato and continuo), and recorder solo player. He was also involved into several radio an Cd recordings obtaining positive feedbacks from national and international music critics. As a solo recorder player he has recorded the soundtrack by Ennio Morricone and Marco Frisina to the international co-production \u201cThe Bible\u201d which won the kable ACE (American Television Oscar) for the best soundtrack of the year. In 1994 Giorgio Matteoli founded Festa Rustica (F\u00eate Rustique) ensemble, Italian baroque ensemble with variable musicians (from recorder-harpsichord duo to chamber orchestra). In addition to the numerous concerts performed in Italy and other countries (France, Spain, Albania, Romania, Montecarlo, Israel, Romania, Germany, Israel, Czech Republic, Japan&#8230;) Giorgio Matteoli with his Baroque Ensemble has produced several recordings for Agor\u00e0, Musicaimmagine, ASV Gaudeamus, Da Vonci Classic and MAP Editions music companies. His first worldwide recording of Francesco Mancini\u2019s recorder concerts for recorder and strings (CD Musicaimmagine Records MR 1004) obtained several positive feedbacks from national and international critics and according to the American magazine \u201cFanfare\u201d is one of the world\u2019s best classical music recordings produced in 1995 (\u201cthe want list 1995\u201d). After that Matteoli has discovered, recorded and performed on original instruments all over Italy and Europe unknown beautiful music from the 17th and 18th Century. The last recordings of Giorgio Matteoli and his Festa Rustica are: Nine \u201dLamentazioni per gli uffici delle Tenebre\u201d for solo singers and orchestra by the venetian Priest Francesco Antonio Vallotti (contemporaneous of Antonio Vivaldi, produced and distributed by the well known Amadeus italian music Magazine), Haendel\u2019s complete recorder sonatas and Vivaldi\u2019s sacred &amp; secular cantatas with recorder (with two concertos for recorder and strings) edited by Da Vinci Classic &amp; MAP Efdition. In addition to his musical instruments Giorgio Matteoli studied also composition and orchestra conducting (at Milan and Como Conservatories) and has conducted chamber and symphonic Orchestras (\u201cOrchestra Guido Cantelli&#8221;, \u201cNuova Cameristica\u201d, \u201cOrchestra Sinfonica Italiana\u201d&#8230;) as well as \u201cAMR\u201d (The Plucked Strings Orchestra of Rome of which he has been chief conductor in 2013-2014). Giorgio Matteoli is also author of several articles published on different italian music Magazines (Orfeo, Amadeus, Cd Classics). These articles deal with the recorder technique, history of music, baroque composers and repertories. Giorgio Matteoli is the President of Early Music Italia Association and founder of the \u201cBrianza Classica\u201d chamber music festival (www.brianzaclassica.it), an important 14th years old series of concerts which takes place in about 30 locations in the Northern area of Milan. As recorder teacher he was invited to hold Masterclasses in Japan and Israel (italian Institute of Culture in Osaka and Tel Aviv Conservatory) and, for the Early Music Department of his Conservatory, organizes every year the \u201cEarly Music Weeks&#8221; where he conducts the Atelier of baroque orchestra<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"post-excerpt\">&nbsp; Giorgio Matteoli was born in Rome in 1966.
